WHAT
Minority party Voluntad Popular intends to replace the legitimately elected President with "the exit" to a "Transition Government" not elected by anyone. On February 12th, it calls for a demonstration "against insecurity" at the Office of Public Prosecution, which ends in an attempt to set fire to the building, vehicles burnt down and shooting that causes two deaths and thirty injured. Terrorist groups block roads and kidnap vehicles, destroy over fifty mass transport buses, sabotage power stations, destroy the seats of 15 universities, loot, take tolls and shoot to death security officers and neighbors who try to restore roads.
WHEN
After bolivarians won 76.42 per cent of mayor's offices on December elections, reaching 256 out of 335 municipalities. After the Government granted USD 60 billion at an official rate to businesspeople for vital imports, which they squander in fictitious imports. After mass hoardings on behalf of dealers who create strategic shortages. After the Government faced the economic war with a Law on Fair Prices that banned usual corporate profits of 200%, 300%, 1,500% and even 15,000%.
WHERE
In 19, then 9 and finally 1 middle class municipalities governed by opposition mayors, whose local police bodies protect those who kidnap neighbors until a rule of the Supreme Court banned it (there are not blocked roads at Country Club or La Lagunita). In bordering states, spread with paramilitary infiltrates, scenarios of a secessionist project.
WHO
International media presents them as students. There are some, sent in front line to provide victims. But there are a few out of 79% of young people between 14 and 24 years old who study; out of 67% who does it in free institutions, out of 90% who thinks that studying give many or a lot of opportunities, out of 73% who thinks that the bolivarian participatory democracy is the best system; out of 60% who thinks that the best economic system is socialism (GIS XXI pollster). Only a third of the arrested violent people are students. Out of five armed people arrested by watchmen at Venezuela's Central University (UCV), none of them belonged to that institution and only one was a student.
HOW
Going from the "peaceful" demonstration to kidnapping neighbors massively, looting, taking tolls, burning things down, destroying 15 free universities, poisoning fresh water reserves with gas oil and murdering. Generously allotting USD 1,338,331 that according to its annual report NED allocated to Venezuela in 2012, plus the flood of foreign currency last and this year and those channeled through NGO financed with them. Hiring killers, paramilitary officers and scourges of slums who, being arrested, confessed to have charged a thousand bolivares per day. Forming an alliance with 87 IAPA newspapers and five global media corporations against Venezuela.
WHY
Because Venezuela has the world's biggest hydrocarbon reserves and controls its own industry. Because it uses its resources to achieve the highest levels of equality and human development in the region. Because it fosters multipolar diplomacy and continental alliances as ALBA, UNASUR and CELAC, opposed to the United States' interventionism. Because after the gross failures in Syria and Crimea, the United States wants revenge with the big deal offered by opponents but which resulted a hard nut to crack. Because after losing 18 out of 19 indisputable elections, the opposition seeks to take away with a coup d'état, terrorism and foreign intervention what it has not been able to win with votes.
